1^st teaching week: What is forensic medicine? Medical aspects of death. Changes after death. Identification of the living and dead. Forensic dentistry. The mass disaster. Examination and interpretation of bite marks. Age determination from the teeth. Blood stains, groups, DNA and identification.

2^nd teaching week: Regional injuries. Firearm and explosive injuries. Murder, suicide or accident? Transportation injuries. Asphyxia and pressure on the neck and chest. Immersion and drowning. Effects of injury. Unexpected and sudden death from natural causes.

3^rd teaching week: Injury due to heat, cold and electricity. General aspects of poisoning. Tolerance, dependence and withdrawal symptoms. Medical malpractice. The doctor and the law. What has to know a dentist about forensic medicine.

TEACHING HOURS PER WEEK: 5 hours / 3 weeks

1^st teaching week: Medico-legal investigation of deaths. Death certification. Changes after death. The estimation of the time of death. Doctor at the scene of crime. The serohaematological lab.
Types of autopsies. External and internal post-mortem examination. Exhumation. Current case demonstration and analysis at the autopsy room or videodemonstration.

2^nd teaching week: Duty of the doctor in wounding cases. The examination of wounds. Cases on forensic dentistry. Dental identification practising. Mass disasters and the doctor.
Medico-legal investigation of alcohol abusing. The alcohol lab. Scheme of examination for impairment of ability to drive. Current case demonstration and analysis at the autopsy room or videodemonstration.

3^rd teaching week: Medico-legal aspects of poisoning. The collection and storage of samples for toxicological analysis. Drugs of dependence and abuse. The toxicological lab.
Forensic documentation. An expert opinion. Consulting of the cases on the Internet forensic discussion board. Repetition. Computer test on forensic medicine and medicine law.
